when you upload a file to the CDN (Content Delivery Network), the bytes of your file are split up into different parts called 'fragments'. they are they sent one by one to the server over a HTTPS connection, so that nobody can see the data of these fragments. previously, each upload was recorded in an Apache Cassandra database, but this isn't the case anymore due to maintenance issues. the unique ID, time of the upload, incoming IP address and file name is written to the console's standard output during the lifetime of the server, but after a server restart, all that remains is just the file itself. also, any content uploaded that violates my local laws (in the UK) will be removed without warning.
